Debbie Macon presently holds the office of Trustee, Charter Township of West Bloomfield, Michigan. She has had 10 years in public service as an elected official in local governance in Michigan, and is a 20-year member and leader of the League of Women Voters. In addition, she is a member of the Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA), Vice Chair of the Metropolitan Detroit Volunteer Administration Network (MDVAN), and an adjunct faculty member of Wayne State University as co-instructor for "Managing Volunteer Programs" in the Nonprofit Sector Studies program. Debbie is a Vice Chair of the American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Chapter, a member of the Board of Directors of United Way Community Services and involved in a wide variety of community-based grassroots voluntary efforts.
