Janina M. Fuller, Ph.D., is a coach, speaker and researcher with over 30 years of consultative and operational experience in the private and nonprofit sectors. As the CEO of Ciris Consulting, Fuller focuses on supporting continuous individual growth, organizational improvement and betterment of the community in the face of diverse challenges.
Helping found a victim advocacy organization in central Oregon ignited Fuller's passion for community service and the empowerment of underserved populations. Following two years in the Peace Corps, she worked for The Hunger Project, an international nonprofit committed to ending the persistence of chronic hunger. In her capacity as a Program Director, Fuller coordinated and trained Hunger Project volunteers across the country in effective project management, media communications and engendering community partnerships to address local issues of hunger and poverty. She trained hundreds of volunteers to deliver The Hunger Project's educational presentations, and she trained many of those volunteers to train others.
Fuller earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development from Louisiana State University, where her dissertation research involved the creation and pilot testing of a survey tool to assess the intention of volunteers to develop their leadership. She serves on the board of the Baton Rouge, LA chapter of the American Society for Training and Development and is a peer reviewer for the scholarly journals Nonprofit Leadership and Management and Journal of Leadership Education.
